The State Government has committed $500,000 towards the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence in Redfern, to help support the next generation of Indigenous sporting and artistic leaders.
The state-of-the-art National Centre of Indigenous Excellence – the first of its kind - aims to develop Indigenous sporting and artistic talent and provide families in the Redfern Waterloo area with a range of learning, recreational and employment opportunities.

NSW Premier and Minister for Redfern Waterloo, Kristina Keneally, today visited the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) and was shown around by Redfern Waterloo Authority CEO, Roy Wakelin-King and National Centre of Indigenous Excellence CEO, Jason Glanville.

During her visit, Premier Keneally also met the Flying Boomerangs, Australia’s top 30 Indigenous youth AFL players selected from across Australia, who will be based at the NCIE for the week.
