Kempsey MacLeay Women for Reconciliation

Kempsey“The Kempsey Macleay Women for Reconciliation, which is located at Kempsey on the Mid North Coast, first met at Goori Galbans after members such as Phyllis Thiering and Paul Parkinson attended the National Conference on Reconciliation.

Historically, this community has had serious racist issues which have led to the disadvanyge of the Dunghutti people.

For instance, in the 1967 national referendum, the Kempsey Shire had a resounding no vote when it came to the citizenship rights of Aboriginal people.”

Kempsey The Convenor for this group are Chris Latta.
