NSW Reconciliation Conference 2009 with Special Screening of Samson & Delilah

The Conference will focus on Action and Leadership in Reconciliation.

Keynote Speakers include: Larissa Behrendt, Jason Glanville, Simon Sheihk, Gregory Andrews, Priscilla Brice-Weller. 

The Conference will be followed by a Special Screening of Samson & Delilah. Writer and Director Warwick Thornton and Producer Kath Shelper will be holding a Q&A session after the screening. 
 
The Conference will be held at Bangarra Dance Theatre, Walsh Bay and the Special Film Screening and Q&A session will be at Dendy Theatre, Circular Quay on Saturday 14 November

Reconciliation in Parliament
Tranby: A Success Story in education and reconciliation
 
This Forum will explore the reasons for the success of Tranby in education and reconciliation and talk about the current issues and challenges the organisation faces.

The Forum will feature Tranby Executive Director Lindon Coombes and a Tranby Student.

The Forum will be held in the Theatrette at NSW Parliament House on Wednesday 11 November.

NSWRC Launches Book Yarn
 
The book club will meet on the first Tuesday of every month to discuss books related to reconciliation.

Book Yarn will also run a monthly online forum on each book to allow members from all over the State to join the conversation and share their thoughts.

The first book on the reading list is Home by Larissa Behrendt.

The inaugural meeting will be held at NSWRC offices in Glebe on Tuesday 1 December.

One lucky person who has become an online member of the NSWRC website by the 20th November will win a signed copy of the book.

NSWRC Short Film Project
 
NSWRC has been filming personal stories of people involved in reconciliation and capturing messages from leaders of the reconciliation movement.

Films will be shown throughout the day at the NSW Reconciliation Conference 2009.

NSWRC Moves to Tranby
 
NSWRC has moved to Glebe and is now co-located with Tranby Aboriginal Co-operative College.

The Council had a great office warming party at the end of October to celebrate the move.
