To participate in the Schools Reconciliation Challenge, students must currently be enrolled in a primary or secondary school in NSW. If students are eligible to enter, they need to follow these simple steps:
1. Remember entry is free. Make sure you tell your friends to enter.
2. Decide whether to enter as an individual, as a group or as a class.
3. Ensure the entry is based on the competition theme - Reconciliation: The Road Ahead
4. Read the Terms and Conditions of entry.
5. Prepare artwork, song lyrics or poem carefully.
Before submitting entries, make sure it meets the following technical requirements.
• No names are to be included anywhere on the artwork/poem/lyrics. Entries must show no name, address or identifying marks other than the title. Personal details are recorded separately on the entry form.
• The filename of digital entries must be the title of the artwork/song/poem.
• Digital entries must be either a .doc, .docx, .rtf,.wps or .pdf, .txt , .jpg, .bmp, .gif file.
Artwork entries - Primary School Students (Grades 3-6)
• Digital entries (preferred): email either a digital photograph or scanned version of the artwork. Preferred file types are: .jpg, .gif, .bmp.
o File should be at low/medium resolution & should not be larger than 800 Kb.
o The original artwork of the winning entries must be available and submitted to the NSWRC Office within seven days of notice (the NSWRC will provide assistance with these arrangements).
• Entries should be on paper or canvas: Artwork/design should be no larger than A4 paper size. Artwork is not to be framed or mounted behind glass.
Song Writing and Poetry - High School Students (Grades 7-12)
• Entries should be no more than 500 words (no minimum).
• Do not submit music or recordings of a song – please submit lyrics only. (the music for song lyrics do not need to be composed.)
• Digital entries (preferred): Typed in 12 point Times New Roman font. Preferably in a Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Works, or PDF document.
• Entries on paper: Typed or clearly handwritten single-sided pages. Pages to be numbered and securely fastened. Each entry must be on a new sheet.
Complete the Entry Form and submit it with the artwork, song lyrics or poem to NSW Reconciliation Council (NSWRC) by either of the following two methods:
