Kelso Community Network is Indigenous and non-Indigenous people (Kelso is a suburb of Bathurst) working for reconciliation and:
- empowering people and the community
- strengthening family and neighbourhood relationships
- improving health, recreation, housing, education, training and employment opportunities
- providing a safe and secure environment for families, children and youth
- establishing support networks, resources and facilities to strengthen people and the community
Activities include:
- Activities for children, youth and families e.g. BBQ’s, Excursions
- Cultural Awareness Camps for indigenous / non-indigenous children and youth.
- Participation in environmental regeneration programs
- Community development activities such as self help groups, focus groups, educational activities
- enabling life skills and work skills including participation in building local community facilities
- Mentoring and leadership training programs
